When he was a kid his dream was to have many professions as a grown up. He achieved those dreams by becoming an actor.

In the 1980’s an energetic kid without the resources to buy an expensive outfit to compete in the costumes contest of the public boarding school he studied at, managed to win it with a hilarious impersonation of Mexican comedian “Cantinflas.” It was since then that Mario Ramirez Reyes started using comedy and creativity to achieve his goals. He was so fascinated with the warm reception from the audience that he started to prepare himself in several areas of the arts. To make sure he did not disappoint them, he took dancing classes with a folklore ballet, acting in Junior High School, sax at the Music High School of the Institute of National Endowment for the Arts in Mexico City, and pantomime with an experimental theater group where he also made his first appearances.

By the 90’s, he incorporated dancing, music, pantomime and improvisation to his comedy shows, winning the hearts of audiences from fairs, sports arenas, concerts, and theater plays. When some producers saw him, they invited him to participate in one of the most popular radio shows back then. There, Mario kept polishing his gift to make several voices, but his relentless spirit soon took him to explore other areas of the arts. His ability to paint moves him to study at the University of Visual Arts of the National University of Mexico (UNAM).

But the fame he already had for his interpretation of Mexican comedians like Tin-Tan, Resortes, Clavillazo, and even the female comedian La India Maria, brought him back to theater, this time to be the star of the most expensive show of Mexico, that had records of attendance in Mexico, Panama, Peru and California: “El Show de las Estrellas” (The Show of the Stars). Several of the personalities he imitated came to see him, including Antonio Espino “Clavillazo” who became his artistic godfather. When the producers of a film company from Los Angeles California saw him portray Cantinflas, they hired him to play the lead in their biographical film about Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”: “No hay derecho Joven” (There is no right young man). After that, the Telemundo Network hired him to bring his extraordinary comedy to the small screen in “La Hora Lunática” (The Lunatic Hour). Very soon, his versatility to make voices earns his entrance to the world of dubbing in Hollywood California, where his role of Goofy from Disney in Spanish stands out.

The decade of the 2000’s brings Mario several leads in over a dozen films in Spanish, and it also gives him the opportunity to enter the cinema world in English with “The Price of the American Dream,” portraying a very dramatic role. Since he loves challenges, for his second film in English he portrayed one of the most controversial characters of history: El Che Guevara in the biographic film “The True Story of Che Guevara” for the History Channel. The 2000’s decade also saw him grow as a director, writer, and producer of several films, music videos and theater plays. The creativity and good humor that fueled his childhood are still present, but now he intends to not only entertain but to motivate positive thinking and change in society.
